Valencia: Eating & drinking

A slice of gastronomic paradise, served in the sunshine
Famous for its Paella, and rightly so. Served in the gigantic paella pans used for cooking this signature Valencian dish, you'll be slightly overwhelmed at the size and think you may have got the ordering wrong again! Not to worry though. The cooking of the dish is as particular to the area as is the dish itself. A layer of rice, one or two rice grains thick is carefully arranged in the pan and then placed in a high temperature oven for a short time to finish off the cooking process.
Eating the paella straight from the 'paellera' is the best, most authentic way of enjoying these rice dishes, served with a large variety of ingredients
Make sure you don't leave Valencia without trying some of their Tortilla Espanola (potato omelette) made with some Spanish onions, potatoes and fresh eggs. You could even have a 'bocadillo de torta de patata' (Spanish omelette roll) as a quick lunch on the fly, between qualifying sessions!
